The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 665 new cases of COVID-19.�
Today�s report � the second straight day under 700 � brings the state�s total number of cases up to 144,544. With the confirmation of *53 additional deaths, 3,729 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.�
*MSDH Note: 22 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between October 15 to November 18, identified from death certificate reports.
Overall hospitalizations have now risen above 900 for the first time since late August.�
�I really hate that we�re having to have this conversation around Thanksgiving, because we have had such a hard year and we need a break and we want to be with our families,� State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said Monday. �But, if we think about how Thanksgiving works, we all get together with the ones that we love�We mix young folks with old folks, and that�s really going to be powder keg concern right there.�
As of Monday, an estimated 121,637 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.
