MSDH confirms 1,005 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,005 new cases of COVID-19. 

Today’s report — following a Thanksgiving Day report of 1,746 — brings the state’s total up to 148,387. With the confirmation of 6 additional deaths, 3,769 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus. 

The latest hospital data from the MSDH (11/24) shows that the state remains close to the peak of the summer months. 

Earlier this week, Governor Tate Reeves expanded his “Safe Recovery” order to include 41 of the state’s 82 counties. 

Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Covington, DeSoto, Forrest, Harrison, Hinds, Humphreys, Itawamba, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lafayette, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Leflore, Lee, Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marshall, Montgomery, Neshoba, Panola, Perry, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Rankin, Stone, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union, Winston, Yalobusha

In these counties, indoor social gatherings are limited to 10 people or less and outdoor social gatherings are limited to 50. Masks are required while indoors and when social distancing is not possible.
